THE PAINFULLY SIMPLE TRUTH IS THAT

AND
PEOPLE WHO DON'T,

IS THAT THOSE WHO DO, DO
AND THOSE WHO DON'T, DON'T
SO, DO.

It started with a dream

This is a brief description of how I (Nate Murphy) went from living in a city to spending six years (and counting) living nomadically from a van and focusing on the things that I find important.

Six years ago I was living in a city while I worked on my own business and did city things, like paying crazy rent and getting back pain from sitting down too much. I found myself feeling less interested in this life so over a period of a year I moved my company to a corporate and took a job. Two years later, after saving as hard as I could, I decided to quit work to travel and focus on a rock climbing, a long-term passion, so I could see what I could do if I focused on it (before I got too old!)

After a year of backpacking, I bought a Ford Transit and used my experience as an Industrial Designer to turn it into a beautiful van conversion.  I filmed the process of how I made it and shared it with the world. That video got over 10 million views on YouTube and over 80 million views on Facebook and, because of its the massive reach, I had thousands of people asking questions.

To make it easier answer questions I made a blog to share lots of the 'how to' information but it was clear that something more would be useful, so I knuckled-down and wrote a book. Originally it was a 'what you need to know' guide for how I made my van but it has now expanded to give a variety of build options and is currently in its 11th Edition. What's better, every time I update it - you get the update for free!

In 2020 I bought a house, and over fourteen months (and the pandemic) I renovated it into a modern eco-home that I can use as a base for further adventures. I wrote a book about this process too.

The past six years has utterly changed my life for the better. I have met so many amazing people while on the road, I have climbed in amazing places all over the world and I have discovered a lot about myself and about the world I live in.

In the past six years I have worked hard to build my YouTube channel into something that allows us to share useful content with millions of people all over the the world.

The dream continues!
